About Julie

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check out Julie Gallagher Photography!
To put it simply… I love taking photographs.  Photography allows me to freeze moments in time that race by far too quickly.  Tiny baby toes, the laugh of a toddler discovering something new, the look on a child’s face as they play and dream…these things are worth recording.
I have always had a love and appreciation for photography.  My photography journey really kicked into full swing when I had my first son almost 16 years ago.  I am blessed with three amazing children and I rarely leave my camera out of my hand.  I know that children grow up so fast and memories fade.  Photography allows me to document everything my children do, see, create and experience – all their little mannerisms and personality that makes them so unique.  I hope as the years go by and the older they become, that one day they will thank me for treasuring and recording every little moment of their life.
If you like my work and think I am the right photographer to tell YOUR story from the other side of the lens, please send me an email to jgallagherphotos@aol.com or drop by the Julie Gallagher Photography Facebook page.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Newborn sessions

Newborn sessions should be scheduled while you are still pregnant as I only have a limited amount of sessions available each month.  Knowing that little ones have a mind of their own and will come when they are good and ready, once your little one has arrived, we can then set the official date/time.
The ideal time to photograph your newborn is when they are 4 – 12 days old. At this age, they allow me to get those super sleepy, curled up shots. After two weeks of age, babies are more alert and harder to settle. Also, some babies tend to start to develop baby acne after this stage.
A typical newborn session will last between 2 and 4 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, changing, and comforting.  I aim to include multiple backdrop changes and props for your session, as well as hats, headbands, wraps, etc. If you have any props that you would like to include in the pictures, please feel free to bring them.

Child Sessions:

A typical session will last up to an hour (or more)  I spend a little time talking with your child to put them at ease and to find out what excites them.  Usually, by the end of the session they are tearing through the studio and that’s the way I like it!  I love to catch their expressions and mannerisms.  I love crinkly noses when a child is laughing – that is one of my favourites to capture!!

Family Sessions:

A typical family session will last an hour.  Relaxation is key to a successful family portrait.  Please don’t worry if you hate getting your photograph taken, I do my best to make it an enjoyable experience!

After Your Session:

During the week after your session, a ‘sneak peek’ of your photographs will be published on the Julie Gallagher Photography facebook page.  Your full gallery of edited photographs will be ready to view within 2 weeks of your session. You can choose to have an in-person ordering session or you may view your images online and place your order online.  Orders will take 2 – 3 weeks to be completed, depending on what products you have ordered.
